Adult & Family Programs

COMMUNITY CPR & FIRST AID

Lebanon Firefighters will instruct students on CPR & First Aid. This course is accredited by the American Heart Association, and the certification is good for 2 years. The course is limited to 10 – 15 students and will consist of no longer than 4 hours of training. This course is a free community safety course, but donations are appreciated.  Inquiries should be directed to Battalion Chief Mike Spidel at 765-482-8832.

FIRE EXTINGUISHER TRAINING

Lebanon Firefighters will instruct students on fire extinguisher safety. There is a 15 – 30 minute video and lecture followed by a fire suppression demonstration, complete with a live burn and quick lecture. This is a free community safety course, but donations are appreciated.   The live burn demonstration must be conducted at the Boone County Training Facility.   On site live burns, other than the fire training facility, are prohibited by the State of Indiana without a proper permit from IDEM (Indiana Dept. of Enviornmental Management).

SMOKE DETECTOR ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

A working smoke detector in every home is the goal of this program. A free smoke detector is available to any resident of Lebanon and all you have to do is stop by one of the fire stations or simply give us a call. Residents who need assistance with installation, battery change, or inspection of a smoke detector can also call the station and request assistance. 765-482-8832

NEIGHBORHOOD SMOKE DETECTOR PROGRAM

Because fire can grow and spread so quickly, having working smoke detectors in your home can mean the difference between life and death. Smoke detectors are the most effective early warning devices available to you and your family. Just having a smoke detector in your home cuts your chance of dying in a fire in half. The Lebanon Fire Department offers a free smoke detector and battery replacement to all residents of Lebanon. Around the week of Fire Prevention Week, on-duty firefighters will be set up in neighborhoods to offer free smoke detectors and will be installing smoke detectors and batteries upon request.

New smoke detectors and batteries are accepted to help fund this life-saving program.

HOME INSPECTION PROGRAM

The Lebanon Fire Department Fire Prevention and Inspection Division does offer home inspections at the request of the resident. We will offer recommendations to the homeowner on how to make their home as safe as possible. Let us help to make sure you and your family remain safe in your home!

If you or your organization would like to make a donation to our program, please call us at 765-482-8832

CHILD CAR SAFETY SEAT PROGRAM

The Lebanon Fire Department Child Safety Seat Program, headed by Battalion Chief Mike Baird, offers professionally installed safety restraint seats for your precious children. Battalion Chief Baird commands a staff of dedicated professionals who will make sure your existing child restraint safety seat is installed properly and that the seat is up to safety standards.  If a new seat is needed one will be provided to the consumer at no charge thanks to grants and community supported donations.    It's important to all of us that your child is adequately protected while riding in your vehicle. Residents and parents in need can call 765-482-3942 Extension 8311 to make an appointment.  The permanent fitting station is located at Lebanon Fire Station #2 - 18 E. Anderson Lane.  Appointments are made for Fridays only from 1 PM to 3 PM.  Many children are needlessly injured in automobile accidents.  Please help us to ensure that your children are safe on our highways!
