Two former officers of the Boone County Youth Football league have been charged with taking approximately $18,000 from the organization. Chris Shockley, 39, 1616 N. Outer Drive and Adam Roberts, 35, 1521 Victoria Drive, were arrested today after each being charged with 3 counts of Theft as a Class D. The charges are the result of a two-month investigation into money that was discovered missing when new officers were elected to the organization. After examining the group’s financial records, the Youth Football board contacted the Lebanon Police Department and the case was investigated by Detective Lt. David Scott. Scott obtained the arrest warrants from Boone Superior Court II on Friday. Shockley turned himself into the Boone County Jail earlier today (Monday) while Roberts was arrested at his home by LPD officers. Investigators believe the money was primarily used by the suspects for household expenses. |
