Mission Statement
The mission of Lebanon Parks and Recreation is to improve the quality of life of the citizen of Lebanon and Greater Boone County by assuring positive leisure experiences and creating recreational opportunities through the conservation and wise use of park lands and facilities for now and future generations.
Message from the Director
It is a pleasure and a privilege to serve as Director for our parks and their needs. Our park activities and grounds have been part of the lives of many children and adults alike. The annual Easter Egg Hunt and Red Cross swimming lessons were some of my first experiences in Lebanon Memorial Park. My appreciation of nature and wildlife has become more pronounced as an adult. My personal mission is to ensure that the residents of Lebanon have the opportunity to experience all facets of the parks.
The Lebanon Parks Department employees care about our environment and those who enjoy the natural beauty of Boone County. The Parks Department has the responsibility of overseeing the care and the maintenance of all of the parks in the City of Lebanon. Visitors to our city parks are greeted by well-maintained recreational equipment with equally beautiful landscapes. Our employees desire to maintain a balance within the parks responding to the needs of equipment repair and daily care of the park grounds.
It is just as necessary to tend to the business of the parks and its programs. The office staff members record and facilitate the paperwork necessary to generate program events and service/maintenance reports. Organized programs offer multi-generational opportunities for events throughout the year.
Please take some time and view all the amenities our parks have to offer on our website. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the office staff or me.
Thank you,
John Messenger
