Handgun Permit Information
If you live within the city limits of Lebanon, come to the Lebanon Police Department during normal business hours (8-4, M-F) and submit your name, DOB and Social Security information for a criminal history check. This verification can take up to a week but is often faster. It is recommended to call LPD before returning to verify that your records check has been completed. Once completed locally, the application is submitted to the Indiana State Police for processing. This processing could take several weeks. DO NOT CARRY A HANDGUN ON AN EXPIRED PERMIT! An application for a handgun permit is NOT a firearms permit!

If your address is in the city of Lebanon then L.P.D. can assist you with your handgun permit application.
If your address is in Lebanon, but you live out in the county then you will have to go to the Sheriff’s Dept.
All other handgun permits have to be done at your local law enforcement agency.
