Rule 6 - Industrial

Rule 6: Applicability per I.D.E.M. -

327 IAC 15-6 (Rule 6) (Select Rule 6, Storm Water Discharges Exposed to Industrial Activity from the index or Scroll to page 23) applies to all facilities that operate with one or more Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Codes or meet specific activity categories as identified in the Rule.

Industrial facilities generally are classified by Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code. This code is a four-digit number that corresponds to the type of industrial activity at a facility, and can be determined, on-line, from the OSHA web page. Facilities currently using the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) can find conversion tables into SIC Code online. Several of the SIC Codes and some additional non-classified industrial activity categories are subject to Rule 6.

For a table describing the industrial SIC Code categories subject to Rule 6 please use this link to the I.D.E.M. website - http:\\www.in.gov/idem/6570.htm
